Not only was Scottie Scheffler the highest-ranked golfer in Louisville lock-up, he was apparently also the most popular person there. Another man who had been arrested, and met Scheffler during his short detention on Friday , reportedly said the pro-golfer was nothing but kind, although he had no idea who Scheffler was. A police officer reportedly had to alert him to Scheffler’s star status. “You know you’re talking to the number one golfer in the world, right?” the officer said, according to TMZ Sports . Scheffler also attracted a small crowd of officers interested in getting a glimpse of the pro-golfer. Scheffler was out of police custody within three hours, and back for tee time at the second round of the PGA Championship . Scheffler, who was arrested after an encounter with a police officer outside Valhalla Golf Club, faces four charges, including felony second-degree assault on a police officer.
