Social media stunned after Lakers star LeBron James hits wild shot to end first half

The Los Angeles Lakers were leading by as many as many as 12 points in the first half of their game one meeting with the Denver Nuggets.

However, a surge led by both Nikola Jocic and Michael Porter Jr. helped the Nuggets crawl their way back into the game and erase the lead.

With the game tied at 57 with less than five seconds remaining, the Lakers inbounded the ball to LeBron James who let the ball bounce and pulled up from around the logo to drill a three in the face of former teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to go up 60-57 at the half.

The Lakers will need to cut back on their turnovers and fouls, as in both categories they have more of each than the Nuggets. It would also help if they keep making life difficult for the Nuggets from deep, as the defending champs are 6-of-23 from three.

James has 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting while making all three of his attempts from deep.

According to ESPN's analytics, the Lakers' win probability comes in at 50.5% but there is a lot of basketball left to be played.
