Wreaths mobile exhibit to visit Shawnee Cemetery
LIMA —Shawnee Cemetery is set to be the site of a special visit Wednesday, May 22. The Wreaths Across America will bring the Mobile Education Exhibit to the cemetery from 3 to 8 p.m. as part of a national tour designed to bring the mobile museum to the public and bring together the community and veterans, as well as active-duty military.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The West Central Learning Academy is celebrating the high marks they received on their last state report card. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce presented the school with their Exceeding the Standards banner for their outstanding academic achievement for the last school year. The academy offers a flexible learning option for students in 9th through 12th grade, and it has a dropout prevention and recovery program to help students up to 22 years old get caught up in their education and graduate.

West Middle School students go on a fishing adventure thanks to the City of Lima and ODNR
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - It was all smiles as some lucky students from Lima's West Middle School took a fishing expedition. Several of these students have never had the chance to fish or ride in a boat, but that all changed today. It has become an annual event that the City of Lima's Park and Recreation and Utilities Department, along with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, provide for Allen County students. Rods, reels, wax worms, and instructions are provided for the kids to have a great experience. 7th and 8th graders even got the chance to go aboard a small boat and take a spin around Sertoma Pond in Faurot Park. The goal of the event is to teach the youngsters a new life skill.
