N.J. Catholic school can’t be saved: School dating back to 1959 will close after fundraising effort
A long-shot fundraising drive to save a Catholic elementary school in Passaic County that is closing after 65 years is being called off, according to the organizer. Parents were stunned in mid-May when church officials announced that Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Wayne, which opened in 1959, would shut down at the conclusion of the 2023-24 school year.

Livingston High School Principal to be Appointed as Director of Elementary Special Education
LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Livingston Board of Education (LBOE) is expected to approve the recommended appointment of Livingston High School (LHS) Principal Danielle Rosenzweig as the district’s Director of Special Education, effective on July 1 pending the LBOE’s vote at Tuesday’s public meeting. Five Livingston High School Students Compete at Speech and Debate Nationals
CHICAGO, IL — Five members of the Livingston High School (LHS) speech and debate team recently qualified to attend the National Catholic Forensic League (NCFL) Grand Nationals tournament in Chicago, Ill. The NCFL holds preliminary competitions nationwide throughout the school year in which students compete to earn a spot at nationals by placing in their local competitions. MONTVILLE, NJ - Paper airplanes, tie-dye rockets, tiny houses, and circuit art, were among the STEAM activities that Robert R. Lazar Middle School STEAM Club students organized for their peers. Working in teams, the grade 6 to 8 club members researched and prepped a range of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math projects for their fellow students to explore and enjoy during the in-school event.
