Delivering hunger relief: Postal workers collect food as part of annual Stamp Out Hunger event
Newark letter carriers collected food for those in need Saturday through the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive. Organized by the National Association of Letter Carriers, the food drive is part of a national effort that is in its third decade. Residents were asked to put a bag of non-perishable food next to their mailbox. Letters carriers picked up the food during their normal mail route. In Delaware, the donated food goes to the Food Bank of Delaware.
