Major doughnut-and-coffee chain delays expanding in Brunswick

(This story has been updated to add new information.) A Massachusetts-based donut and coffee company has some delays in opening new locations in Brunswick County . With one location in Leland and another in Shallotte, three more Dunkins are slowly making their way to the area. There are only two existing Dunkin' locations operating in the county, one standalone Dunkin' in Leland and an in-store counter inside the Walmart Supercenter in Shallotte. County planning staff previously approved a standalone Dunkin' location at 4875 Long Beach Road SE, commonly known as N.C. 133, and another at 28 Blanton Road, Supply. The town of Carolina Shores approved plans for a third new location as well, to be constructed near the new Publix site. Construction is currently underway on the Long Beach Road location between a Food Lion-anchored retail area and Hampton Inn & Suites. The walls are up, but it is running behind schedule. Previous coverage: Major doughnut-and-coffee chain to open two more Brunswick stores Both the Supply and Southport area locations are owned by Dunkin' franchisee George Ross and will be completely new builds, former Senior Public Relations Specialist Julia Voutour previously told the StarNews. 5 Best Restaurants in Wilmington, North Carolina You Need to Try Before Everyone Else Finds Them

Wilmington, North Carolina — a city where the Cape Fear River glimmers beneath Spanish moss, where pastel houses lean into the Atlantic breeze, and where the laughter of surfers, students, and old-timers mingles on sun-warmed sidewalks. Here, the architecture is a patchwork: antebellum mansions, weathered bungalows, neon-lit diners, and the ever-present hush of the ocean. Wilmington is a crossroads — of Southern tradition and saltwater dreams, of families who’ve called it home for generations and newcomers drawn by the promise of possibility.

Is it legal to throw your pet's poop in neighbor's trash can? What SC law says

It’s trash day in your neighborhood, and you have your can sitting along the curb waiting for pickup. Then along comes a neighbor walking their dog and throws their pet’s bag of feces into your trash can. Putting aside the fact that the act is not very neighborly, is it against the law? South Carolina law says that a person cannot “dump, throw, drop, deposit, discard, or otherwise dispose of litter or other solid waste upon ... private property in the State for which he is not the legal owner or a person otherwise granted permission by the legal owner.” Horry County has separate solid-waste rules , and using someone else’s bin without permission could still prompt a complaint. The law also states that “garbage” that is placed in trash cans for pickup “shall not include human or animal feces.” There are other city ordinances with rules about picking up and disposing of your pet’s waste. Myrtle Beach and pet poop Myrtle Beach’s ordinance says that it is unlawful to "fail to promptly remove and properly dispose of all feces left by the animal on any public property or any private property not owned by the owner.” It goes as
