Sheriff’s office searching for two suspects following Dublin Mini Mart armed robbery
BLADEN COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects following an armed robbery at Dublin Mini Mart Thursday morning, May 2. “Suspects are reported to be two black males wearing masks. One suspect is wearing a red hoodie and the other is wearing a black hoodie. A black possible 9mm was reported by clerk to have been used. Suspects left on foot towards Hursey Street, Dublin,” the sheriff’s office announcement states.
Sheriff’s office: Three arrested following Columbus Co. chase that reached speeds of 135 mph
COLUMBUS COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) - Three people were arrested following a Columbus County chase that reached 135 mph, according to the Tabor City Police Department. Per a TCPD report, on Friday, April 26, an officer was dispatched to assist the Chadbourn Police Department with a chase involving a stolen Nissan Altima that was headed towards Tabor City.

Woman’s Charges Upped After Traffic Stop
A simple drug possession case became much more complicated when a Bolton-area woman allegedly refused to cooperate with deputies. Barbara Lynn Sessions, 45, was charged with simple possession of marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, two counts of resisting an officer, and two counts of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $1,000. Sessions address was listed on warrants as 6338 Old Lake Rd., Bolton.
Robinson Visits Chadbourn Friday
Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson will visit Chadbourn Friday, making in a campaign stop and an appearance at the N.C. Strawberry Festival Strawberry Encounters. Robinson is the Republican nominee for governor, facing Democrat Attorney General Josh Stein on the November ballot. Democrat Roy Cooper is finishing his last term as governor, since term limits prohibit more than two terms in the state’s highest office.
Water outage reported in Whiteville
WHITEVILLE, N.C. (WECT) - A water outage is affecting a portion of Whiteville Thursday morning, May 2, according to Whiteville Emergency Services. “The City of Whiteville is currently experiencing a water outage on North Thompson Street between College Street and Church Street. Water service has been interrupted for the immediate area. Crews are on scene now working to repair the leak. Water service will be restored as soon as possible,” the announcement states.
