North Jersey Female Athlete of the Week brings a surgical precision to her game
Pressure can be a poison for some lacrosse goalies. Elizabeth Crames has harnessed it with the help of her older brother and a cinderblock wall. Crames became the first Mahwah goalie to hit 500 saves last Wednesday when her team beat Cedar Grove in the opening round of the sectional tournament. Bound for a Division I career at Long Island University, the 5-foot-8 junior felt like the milestone validated all the extra hours she puts in behind the scenes.

Hudson Valley Manufacturing Plant Laying Off 88 New York Workers
A Hudson Valley manufacturing plant that just expanded its production line in 2019 is now cutting a third of its workforce. Hundreds of local workers have already found themselves out of work this year thanks to several layoff announcements. In February, Urnex announced that it would be eliminating 84 jobs and relocating its plant in Elmsford. Later that month, another 100 workers were laid off by Zena Delivery & Logistics in New Windsor after the Amazon partner failed to secure insurance.

Altercation Leads to Charges Against Warren County Man Firing Gun Into the Ground
WARREN COUNTY, NJ - A Port Murray man has been charged in Warren County, New Jersey for a discharged firearm. Authorities have identified Kajuan Manley, 34, of Port Murray, New Jersey, as the individual responsible for discharging a firearm into the ground.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER On May 24, 2024, at approximately 10:15 PM, the Mansfield Township Police Department responded to the area of Gulick Street after receiving a report of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers were informed that no one had been shot but that Manley allegedly discharged a firearm into the ground approximately nine times in an effort to break up an altercation nearby, according to a statement from Warren County Acting Prosecutor Anthony Picione. Manley was charged with second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, specifically a Smith and Wesson MP 15. This case was investigated by the Mansfield Township Police Department with assistance on the scene from the Washington Township Police Department in Warren County, New Jersey, as well as the New Jersey State Police.
