Wildlife photographer robbed at gunpoint in Oakland hills
OAKLAND, Calif. - A nature photographer, admired for his skills, was robbed at gunpoint of his personal belongings - including an expensive camera - in the Oakland hills. Jim Roach, 72, said he was apparently followed and confronted by three masked robbers after he had parked his car near Joaquin Miller Road and Skyline Boulevard just before dawn Friday. He had been preparing to go on a hike and take pictures.

Carjacking Suspect Detained After Colliding with Police Vehicle in Oakland
An alleged carjacker was detained in Oakland after colliding with a police vehicle during an escape attempt. The event transpired at 3:30 am near Bancroft and 62nd Avenues, where the suspect disobeyed a stop signal, prompting a police pursuit.
