Ramblers Survive Bulldogs and Advance in 1AAA Playoffs
(KWMN)- The Cotter Ramblers held off a late rally from the Bulldogs to advance to the 1AAA semifinals. The Ramblers started hot, forcing a quick 3-and-out and a punt from PEM. Cotter turned it into 6 points almost immediately, following a 48-yard touchdown run from Wesley Troke on just the second play from scrimmage. The Ramblers failed to convert a 2-point conversion however and took a 6-0 lead. The next drive from the Bulldogs started well but stalled at the 31-yard line of the Ramblers. It took Cotter 9 plays to score again, this time behind a 15-yard rush from Rawson Sullivan for his first of the game. The Ramblers took over at their own 48 after forcing another turnover on downs, before Wesley Troke went for 52-yards on the second play of the drive again, taking a 20-0 lead. Cotter wouldn’t be able to keep Plainview-Elgin-Millville off the board forever, conceding a touchdown, and they took a 20-7 lead into the half.

Stout overcomes deficit, bests La Crosse for first time since 2011
MENOMONIE — In 2011, many of UW-Stout Polytechnic's current football roster had barely even touched a football. Quarterback Chase Pemberton was just six years old. Defensive lineman Dre Bournes? Four. UW-Stout football coach Clayt Birmingham was in his second year at the head of the Blue Devils in 2011, when he finished 5-5 and 3-4 in the WIAC, including a 10-0 home victory over UW-La Crosse. Fifteen years later, that was still the only time Birmingham got the better of the Eagles, losing 13 straight since. That streak looked to be extended as Stout trailed by as much as 18 to No. 20 UW-La Crosse Saturday at Don and Nona Williams Stadium. But, by flipping the script in a second half comeback, the Blue Devils narrowly edged past with a 42-39 win to finally end their skid. “I think whenever you have a drought that long, it's good to get the monkey off your back,” Stout coach Clayt Birmingham said. “(I’m) proud of our players, how they stepped up. It doesn't matter what the score is, these guys are resilient.” Stout improved to 4-3 and 2-2 in the WIAC this season, dropping La Crosse to 3-4 and 2-2. Down 18
