    Man arrested for robbing car dealership employee and stealing vehicle in Kennewick

    KENNEWICK, Wash. -- KPD said one man was arrested and booked into the Benton County Jail for several charges including robbery.

    According to officials, Michael Sparks, 32, threatened a car dealership employee with a knife and stole a car off the lot around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

    Officials said a Benton County Sheriff's Office Deputy spotted the stolen vehicle in Kennewick and followed Sparks through Pasco.

    KPD said the deputy attempted to stop Sparks but he sped away initiating a police chase.

    Police said Sparks drove through a school zone which immediately ended the pursuit.

    According to KPD, police spotted the car again and saw Sparks running from the car. Police initiated a foot chase and was able to arrest Sparks.

    Sparks was booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, eluding, obstruction of justice and resisting arrest.

    FINLEY, Wash. -- Benton County Fire District # 1 responded to a call from the onsite security, at Lineage Logistics, Monday evening (May 13) advising that there were some larger flames at the warehouse site at about 9:30 p.m.
