Sligo Pool Opening Delayed Due to Search for a Weekend Manager
SLIGO, Pa. (EYT) – The opening date of May 25 for the Sligo Poll has been delayed as the Sligo Borough Council searches for a weekend manager. According to a post on Union Area COG Pool Park Facebook page on Wednesday, “due to being unable to find a second manager who can work weekends, the Sligo Pool will not be opening on May 25, and it may not open at all if no manager is found.”
District track and field will test Titusville Rockets’ mettle
The Rockets head to Slippery Rock University Saturday in hopes of making a top two impression to stamp their ticket to states. The event begins at 10 a.m. “The state standards are very difficult to achieve, but the top 2 in each event get to progress to states,” said girls head coach Stacey McDonald. She said the 4X800 relay squad has a legitimate shot, though knows some injuries are also playing a role at the trend of the season. “We hope they can be resolved by next Saturday,” she said.
