1Thing: PRC launches 2024 "Hard-to-Recycle" collection campaign on April 20th

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) The Pennsylvania Resource Council (PRC) has announced that they will launch their 2024 "Hard-to-Recycle" collection campaign by hosting an event in Karns City, Butler County, on Saturday, April 20.

Throughout the spring, summer and fall, five hard-to-recycle collections will enable individuals to responsibly recycle a wide variety of items not accepted in curbside collection such as e-waste, tires and small Freon appliances.

For a $5 PARTICIPANT FEE, individuals can drop off unlimited cell/home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, etc.), expanded polystyrene packaging material, microwave ovens and video game consoles/DVD players.

For an ADDITIONAL FEE, individuals can recycle televisions and computer monitors, printers, fluorescent tubes, small Freon appliances and tires (with and without rims).

The first hard-to-recycle collection of the season will take place on Saturday, April 20, from 9AM - 1PM at Karns City High School, 1446 Kittanning Pike, Karns City, PA 16041.

Saturdays 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

April 20 – Karns City High School, Butler County

May 11 – Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, Allegheny County

July 27 – Leetsdale Industrial Park, Allegheny County September 28 – Settlers Cabin Park, Allegheny County

October 5 – Next Tier Connect @ Pittsburgh East in Monroeville, Allegheny County
