Ex-coach Ozmint due in Arab court Monday
Former Arab High School head football coach Lee Ozmint’s first court appearance in set for Monday, May 20 at Arab City Hall. He was charged a couple weeks ago with “being a school employee distributing or soliciting obscene material to or from a student under the age of 19,” after the alleged victim in the case signed an arrest warrant.

CULLMAN, Ala. – A social media post by Cullman Daily on Wednesday depicting the closing of Swafford Road is inaccurate, according to the City of Cullman. “A rendering of a proposed shopping center development by Alumni Properties at the intersection of Swafford and Cherokee Avenue included a proposed rendering showing the road closed from Cherokee Avenue to West Main Avenue to accommodate the development,” the City said in a statement. “The City of Cullman has no plans to close Swafford Road and the Alumni Properties Managing Partner/CEO/President Keith Owens says he is not requesting closure of the road.”

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Good morning and happy Sunday! Temperatures are starting out in the low to mid 60s this morning. We are dealing with patchy fog in several spots. We are seeing reduced visibility of a mile or less in parts of Tuscaloosa, St. Clair, Talladega, Lamar, Marion, and Cullman counties. A dense fog advisory has been issued for north Alabama that includes Cullman County until 9 a.m. CDT. Visibility could be reduced to a quarter of a mile or less. First Alert AccuTrack Satellite and Radar is showing us mostly dry with a partly cloudy sky. The area of low pressure that gave us showers and storms yesterday is now off to our east impacting Georgia and the Carolinas. We are looking at a partly cloudy to mostly sunny sky this afternoon with highs in the mid 80s. Winds will likely come from the north at 5-10 mph. There’s a 20% chance we could see a stray shower or storms in parts of Northeast Alabama along I-59 today. Areas that could see rain this afternoon includes Cherokee, Etowah, Cullman, Blount, St. Clair, and Calhoun counties. If you have any evening plans, we will hold on to a stray shower with temperatures cooling into the upper 70s by 7-8 p.m. CDT.

Library Board talks progress, future plans

Cullman Regional to establish Level II nursery as part of OB expansion
CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Regional is expanding obstetric and nursery services with the addition of a fourth OB- GYN physician, six neonatologists and four neonatal nurse practitioners to its medical staff, the hospital said in a media release this week.
