Thomas (knee) could start his rehab assignment next week, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. Thomas has been making progress since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain on April 23 and could return to game action as early as next week. Assuming all goes well during his rehab assignment, Thomas could return from the injured list before the end of May.

The Milwaukee Bucks were bit by the injury bug late in the season and bounced from the playoffs. While people were quick to try and shift blame to Doc Rivers, the aging roster, and the failed trades, the fact of the matter is both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard didn’t play much in the series, if at all. Castro (shoulder) has been pulled back from his throwing program, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports. It's unclear exactly when Castro was taken off the program, but he's "been shut down for a couple of days," per Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo. The right-hander had been cruising through the regimen, throwing out to 90, 110 and 120 feet when he felt discomfort on the top of the shoulder. Lovullo said Castro just needs a bit more rest and a second opinion is not needed at this time.

Cronenworth went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's 9-1 win over Atlanta. Cronenworth opened up the scoring with a two-run blast off Bryce Elder in the opening frame for his only hit of the night. Currently among all qualified first basemen, Cronenworth owns a 140 wRC+, which is third in baseball only behind Freddie Freeman and Bryce Harper. He's putting together an excellent campaign and is currently slashing .275/.344/.485 with eight homers, 30 RBI, 21 runs and a 17:33 BB:K in 192 plate appearances.

He's allowed just two earned runs over his last 12.1 innings, lowering his season ERA to 4.50. He's riding a 5.1-inning scoreless streak with three saves and a win during that span.

The Denver City Council learned more Wednesday about the workforce development component of the Denver Asylum Seekers Program. The city has transitioned the way it helps migrants, closing shelters and instead placing 800 people in the asylum program. That includes people who had been staying in non-congregate hotel shelters, all but one of which have closed. New migrant arrivals will not be eligible for the six-month work program until some graduate, according to a presentation by city staff. The city intends to keep 500 people in the work program at a time, according to Tony Anderson, workforce development manager for the city.

Urquidy (forearm) will make another rehab start after his upcoming outing at Double-A Corpus Christi on Saturday, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports. Manager Joe Espada said Urquidy is slated for four innings (60-65 pitches) in Saturday's contest, so the Astros will keep him in the minors for an additional rehab appearance to stretch him out further. The 29-year-old righty struggled in his first rehab outing, giving up three earned runs across 2.2 innings with Triple-A Sugar Land. Assuming his third start in the minors will be his last, Urquidy is in line to pitch again for the Astros in Seattle on May 29.

Brown has walked at least three batters in four of his eight starts and now owns a 41:21 K:BB through 37.1 innings. He'll carry a 7.71 ERA into his next appearance, which is currently lined up to be at home against the Angels. Brown could be pushed back to a bullpen role once Jose Urquidy (forearm) is healthy and Ronel Blanco returns from his suspension.
