(Omaha) Tornadoes swept through western Iowa on Friday, leveling outbuildings and homes. The storm system caused extensive damage in eastern Nebraska and southwest and west central Iowa.
*4:35 p.m. Tornado reported in Modale in Harrison County and roped out.
*4:55 p.m. 1.75 inch Hail reported in Crescent
*4:57 p.m. Tornado spotted two miles northwest of Pacific Junction
*5:01 p.m. Tornado reported three miles northeast of Carter Lake
*5:05 p.m. Tornado reported three miles northeast of Pisgah
*5:07 p.m. Tornado spotted one mile south of Crescent
*5:09 p.m. Tornado reported seven miles southeast of Council Bluffs
*5:13 p.m. Tornado reported six miles west of Treynor
*5:20 p.m. Tornado reported seven miles northwest of Neola
*5:28 p.m. Tornado reported three miles southeast of Underwood
*5:41 p.m. Tornado reported four miles southeast of Logan
*5:41 p.m. Large Tornado struck the town of Minden, destroying homes and outbuildings and damaging trees and powerlines.
*5:45 p.m. Large Tornado destroying homes one-mile northeast of Minden.
*5:47 p.m. Very Large multi-vortex Tornado at least one-third of a mile wide two miles northeast of Minden.
*5:49 p.m. Tornado damages homes one mile west of Shelby.
*5:50 p.m. Tornado crossed Interstate 80, one-mile southwest of Shelby.
*5:57 p.m. Tornado reported three miles south of Tennant. Destroys outbuildings and a home lost its roof.
*5:59 p.m. Tornado reported in Tennant
*6:05 p.m. Multi-vortex Tornado reported three miles west of Harlan. Significant damage between Portsmouth and Harlan. Homes were destroyed, and cars flipped over.
*6:06 p.m. Tornado destroys home two miles west of Harlan
*6:17 p.m.Tornado reported two miles east of Westphalia
