A Jacksonville Homeowner Priced a 3-Ton AC Replacement. The Variable-Speed Option Reached $22,000.
In Jacksonville, Florida, a homeowner wanted to replace a 3-ton AC before summer. In a thread from January 2024, they asked what others had recently paid for the job. The number they had was $16,000 for a single-stage replacement. The same company offered a variable-speed option for $22,000. That gave the homeowner two prices, but little in the post to show what, beyond the equipment choice, accounted for the higher one.

Fly2High Announces Jacksonville V2 for MSFS
Fresh off the heels of their Houston Hobby release, Fly2High took to their Facebook to announce that Jacksonville V2 is in development for MSFS. Jacksonville International Airport (KJAX/JAX) is the 7th busiest airport in Florida and serves as the primary gateway for northeast Florida. The airport was constructed in the mid-1960s and has continued to experience modest growth since then. In fact, 2024 marked Jacksonville Airport’s busiest year of operations. The airfield’s two runways are laid out in a V-shape, with the passenger terminals located in the middle. While no airline claims Jacksonville as a hub, it is served by all of the U.S airlines, with Delta and American Airlines funneling key connecting traffic to their nearby Atlanta and Charlotte hubs. To accommodate future growth, the airport authority broke ground on a new Concourse B in 2024, which will add six new gates to the airport.

Pecan Park Flea Market Closes After 40 Years in Jacksonville
After four decades of weekend shopping, bargain hunting and memories, the Pecan Park Flea & Farmers Market has officially closed its gates. The longtime Northside Jacksonville destination welcomed shoppers for the final time Sunday, September 27, marking the end of a 40-year run. For many customers, Pecan Park was more than just a place to shop. It became part of their weekend routine and a place where families could spend time together while browsing hundreds of vendor booths. The market eventually grew to more than 700 vendor stalls, offering everything from clothing and appliances to collectibles, tools, car parts and other hard-to-find items. The property was sold earlier this year for $8.55 million to a partnership with the Butler family, owners connected to a Georgia-based automotive group. The site is expected to be redeveloped as an automobile dealership. The Macon, Georgia-based group lists 15 dealerships and three collision centers on its website, including Butler Toyota Jacksonville at 1290 Cassat Ave. While the market is now closed to shoppers, vendors still until October 31 to clear out their spaces. The entrance gate will be closed on weekends throughout October, and the property will no longer be accessible after October. For generations
