Westminster, Md. (BW)- Three individuals were charged with burglary by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, May 14. Deputies received a call Tuesday morning around 8:17 a.m. for a suspicious U-Haul van with cardboard covering it’s registration plate. They located the van in the parking lot of BJ’s on Market Street in Westminster. Police observed several individuals walking from the area of the van into the store.

2 Montgomery County schools disrupted over unfounded threats
BETHESDA, Md. — Within 24 hours, Montgomery County Police have responded to three bogus threats at Bethesda schools, disrupting classes and scaring parents. Just before 12:30 p.m. Friday, Walt Whitman High School was evacuated and MCPD officers were called to the school to investigate a reported threat. By 1:20 p.m. police put out notice that the school was secured, classes resume, and the threat was deemed unfounded.

Kayakers Rescued Thursday Evening from Great Falls in Potomac
Two kayakers were rescued Thursday evening from Great Falls on the Potomac River according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue (MCFRS). MCFRS responded around 6:20 p.m. for report of a kayak with two occupants that went over the Maryland Falls. One kayaker was rescued, treated and released by Fairfax Fire. One kayaker was removed by Park Police helicopter with a rescue basket according to officials.
