Repeat Walmart thief caught in Huntington

HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is facing serious charges after breaking a glass case at Walmart and stealing items.

On Monday, April 15, 2024, Cpl. A. T. Farmer responded to a Grand Larceny complaint at Walmart at 3333 US Rt. 60 East in Huntington.

Cpl. Farmer was advised a male suspect broke into a locked display case in the electronics section and stole numerous items. Cpl. Farmer further learned the same male had committed similar crimes at Walmart locations in Barboursville, W.V., and South Point, OH. Further investigation and collaboration with the Cabell County Sheriff’s Department helped identify the suspect as 50-year-old Robert W. Rogers of Huntington, WV.

Cpl. Farmer obtained an arrest and search warrant for the suspect’s residence. The suspect was located, arrested, and charged with Grand Larceny. During the residence search, other stolen merchandise was located and linked to similar crimes.

The suspect was arraigned and lodged in the Western Regional Jail. This investigation remains ongoing.
