Additional charges emerge in overdose death investigation

MOUNT HOPE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Additional charges have emerged with respect to an ongoing investigation into an overdose death which occurred on December 26, 2023.

According to Fayette County Sheriff, Mike Fridley, Robert F. Ruth II, 49 of Mount Hope, has been charged with the felony offense of Drug Delivery Resulting in Death and Conspiracy in relation to the investigation.

Ruth will join William Foley (28 years old) and Bryan Griffith (47 years old) in Southern Regional Jail to await further court proceedings in relation to the case.

Detectives have been actively assembling a timeline of events leading up to the December 26 death at the center of the investigation, and have now charged three individuals from whom the victim had purchased the narcotics which led to their passing.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department’s Detective’s Bureau continues to pursue further information with regard to the investigation.
