Volunteers needed for A Brush with Kindness event in Hornell

HORNELL, N.Y. ( WETM ) – The AmeriCorps of Steuben County, along with Steuben County Habitat for Humanity, is looking for volunteers to help with its community project, A Brush with Kindness, to support homeowners who are in need in the Hornell area.

A Brush with Kindness is a volunteer event where members of the community come together to help revitalize neighborhood homes by helping with landscaping, painting and other exterior home repairs.

The event will take place on May 18, but sign-ups to volunteer for the community project are over on May 7. You can sign up to volunteer on the Habitat for Humanity website or by emailing info@habitatcorning.org.

Volunteers will meet at Concern for Youth located at 76 East Main Street in Hornell at 8:30 a.m. on May 18. Water, snacks and tools will be provided and the projects will continue until 2:30 p.m.
