Students, staff and parents agree: bullying is a problem in Henrico schools
Bullying is one of the top issues for parents, students and staff in Henrico Schools, according to the results of the HCPS 2024 School Survey conducted in February. About half of participants reported a verbal, social, physical or cyberbullying problem at their school. In total, 76% of the student population completed the survey along with 88% of school-level staff and 18% of HCPS families. All survey responses were anonymous.

Henrico Master Gardeners to host annual plant sale, pollinator festival June 8
The Henrico Master Gardener Association will host its annual plant sale and pollinator festival from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 8 at Deep Run Park, 9900 Ridgefield Parkway. First statewide virtual free mental health clinic launches
The Virginia Telemental Health Initiative has become the first statewide virtual free mental health clinic, following a pilot phase. Through this initiative, eligible uninsured or under-insured Virginians now can access mental health services through a virtual platform. The program is operated under the leadership of the Virginia Telehealth Network in partnership with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, the Virginia Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, the University of Virginia Karen S. Rheuban Center for Telehealth, the Mid-Atlantic Telehealth Resource Center, and VTMHI’s volunteers and free clinic participants.
Lightbridge Academy opening first Henrico location
Lightbridge Academy, an early childhood education company with more than 150 locations, has announced plans to open its first Henrico County center. The new facility is scheduled to open at 4003 Sadler Road in Glen Allen during the winter of next year and will offer a range of services for children from the age of six weeks through kindergarten.

Henrico officials seek input about traffic safety improvements

Former Three Chopt supervisor named to 2 state boards
Former Three Chopt District Supervisor Tommy Branin has been appointed to two state boards by Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. Branin, who served two terms on the Henrico Board of Supervisors before losing in November to challenger Misty Whitehead, was named to the State Water Control Board and the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission last week.
