SOUTHERN PINES — A host of Richmond Senior High School student-athletes competed in the NCHSAA 4A Mideast regional track and field meet Saturday, with two Raiders qualifying for the state championship. World records set at Rockingham Dragway at Battle for the Thrones
ROCKINGHAM — Several drivers were crowned and several records were broken at Rockingham Dragway late last month for Battle for the Thrones at Civil Wars. Two events were combined into one weekend, with DuckX Productions bringing Battle of the Thrones to the Rock to join NC Speed Lab’s Civil Wars.

Drop it off in Foxfire’s indigo pot at the beginning of your self-guided tour. When you are done walking through the museum, you’ll be able to pick up your dyed article and you’ll have enjoyed a day discovering Appalachian culture. RCSO: Felon caught with drugs, gun in car stolen from Hamlet
ROCKINGHAM — A convicted felon was released on an unsecured bond Sunday after allegedly being caught with drugs and a gun in a stolen vehicle. According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy with the Traffic Safety Unit was assisted by investigators with the Community Impact Team on Sunday, May 5 after stopping a car that was reported stolen to the Hamlet Police Department.

There was an unusual sighting on Wednesday as five Buddhist monks were seen traveling on foot through Scotland County. The crew was led by 62-year-old Sutham Nateetong. Their journey began nearly 900 miles south in Key West, Florida and is planned to conclude more than 700 miles north at Niagara Falls, NY.
