World records set at Rockingham Dragway at Battle for the Thrones

ROCKINGHAM — Several drivers were crowned and several records were broken at Rockingham Dragway late last month for Battle for the Thrones at Civil Wars.

Two events were combined into one weekend, with DuckX Productions bringing Battle of the Thrones to the Rock to join NC Speed Lab’s Civil Wars.

New world records were set in the Ultra Street and X275 classes, according to Dragway co-owner Dan VanHorn.

A post on the Racing Outlawz Facebook page reads:

“Records were falling from the sky last night at Rockingham Dragway.

Eric LaFerriere dismantled his own X275 record with a 4.033 in White Rice setting the bar to an almost untouchable level.

Ron Rhodes followed that up with the 2nd quickest run in X275 history & new class nitrous record ripping off a 4.086.

In Q3 of X275, Marques Hatton piloted #teamnoeffort’s Nemesis to a new Small Block nitrous record in the class with a blistering 4.109.

In Ultra Street, Texas based racer Billy Smith threw down a new record in the class with a monster 4.419.“

The track rumbled late into the night April 27 and the early morning hours of April 28 to determine the top drivers in the Battle of the Thrones, with the Civil Wars showdowns taking place that afternoon.

The AHDRA motorcycle race was postponed last weekend due to weather, but the Carolina N/T Small Tire Racing event is still on for May 11.
