HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) – After some rain Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning things dried out for the first day of May.

Despite warmer weather, risk of frost still possible in May

It has been a wet spring across western Massachusetts. At Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee, they reported almost 4 inches of rain for April and that was after picking up just over 6 inches of rain during March. All the rain led to some flooding especially on some area rivers. The rain has made for some pretty wet soil for area farmers.

The SkyView22 drone flew over some farm fields in Hadley and you can see that planting is well underway. The grass is green and growing and there is more green showing up on the trees.

River levels have also come down quite a bit from where they were a few weeks ago. Some fields had some puddles and were a bit muddy from all the recent rain.
