Blount County Health Department could get new site, renovations
Millions of dollars from Tennessee state programming and federal relief funds could soon be used to reshape one of Blount County’s major public health institutions. About $8 million could offer the Blount County Health Department either a major makeover or a new site. Loudon and Lenoir City softball seasons come to an end
Two of the three Loudon County high school softball teams’ seasons recently came to a close after competing in the District 5-3A Softball Tournament. Loudon High School’s softball season wrapped up after falling 13-3 to Lenoir City High School in a “Play-In” game held on May 2 at Loudon. 2025 Tennessee softball commit Elsa Morrison hit a home run for Farragut High School (26-10) in its 4-0 victory over Central High School on Monday. The contest took place in Tennessee’s Region 2-4A Tournament semifinals. Morrison went 1-for-3, recording one home run, one run and one RBI for Farragut.
Blount County Dedicates Bridge in Honor of Fallen Deputy Greg McCowan in Friendsville
In a heartfelt display of community remembrance and respect, a recently constructed bridge in Friendsville, Blount County, was dedicated to Deputy Greg McCowan.
