Drug investigation results in four local arrests
After a four-month investigation into drug activity throughout Sawyer, Washburn and Barron Counties, four persons have been arrested, according to the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribal Police Department. Eveleth, Minn. - Minnesota North College will host a series of camps this summer. The free camps are available to students over the age of 16. Funding for the programs comes from the federal Carl Perkins Grant for Career and Technical Education. The EMS Camp is in June, followed by the welding camp in July and the graphic design and visual communications boot camp in August. Camps range in length from one day to five days.

SHELL LAKE — Washburn County District Attorney Aaron Marcoux announced that Antionette Brewer was convicted of conspiracy to deliver heroin. On Thursday, May 9, Brewer was sentenced to 25 years in the Wisconsin State Prison System, consisting of 15 years of initial incarceration followed by 10 years of extended supervision.
