Iron Range sauna company receives national small-business award
TOWER, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Lamppa Manufacturing, an Iron Range sauna business, was named Minnesota Family-Owned Small Business of the Year. The Lamppa family has been in the sauna business for a long time. “My great grandpa started manufacturing sauna stoves in the 1930s,” CEO Garrett Lamppa said.

Northern Wisconsin- The National Forest Service received nearly $2 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to fund projects over the next two years. Leaders say they plan to use the money to fund projects within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Projects will aim to help improve watershed health and increase infrastructure flood resistance. Projects will be located in Florence, Forest, and Vilas Counties. Much of the money will go to the Brule River Headwaters Restoration Plan which includes dam removal and road reconstruction.
Duluth woman charged in Aurora stabbing
A Duluth woman, Brianna Leigh Schroeder, has been charged with first-degree assault, a felony, in connection with a stabbing on the Iron Range over the weekend. The charges state that on Sunday afternoon around 1, an East Range Police Department officer went to an apartment building in Aurora on the report of a stabbing. She found a 63-year-old man on the kitchen floor, holding a bloody towel to his abdomen. The officer saw a one-inch wound.
