Friday Headlines: Geneva Bike Blues
Geneva is holding a public hearing on e-bike regulations to advance local legislation that would restrict their use amid public outcry. The changes would stop riders from operating in parks and on sidewalks, and reinforce existing age and speed limits in state law. Anyone 16-years-old or younger would be barred from using them on public property, and devices that exceed 20 miles per hour are banned, and e-bikes can not be used on roadways with a speed limit of 30 miles per hour or more.

Nearly 30,000 vehicles, large and small, travel past stately and historic homes, businesses and churches on the state-owned, four-lane road daily. The state's contractor will work at night and mill the busy roadway from North Street, near the Tops Friendly Market to Wilcox Lane, near Wood Library, and then pave it. Starting Aug. 31, the pavement from Wilcox Lane to the City Pier will be milled and then paved. This also will be done at night. The contractor wlll not be working the nights when concerts are planned at Constellation Brands-Marvin Sands Performing Arts Center , or CMAC, according to the city's post. Country star Luke Bryan and the Jerry Garcia Symphonic Celebration are scheduled to perform Aug, 26 and Sept. 1, respectively. This news comes on the heels
