A 55-year-old man was killed in a one-car crash on Route 488 in Hopewell, Ontario County, on Tuesday night, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office. Deputies said that Curtis A. Wright of Seneca Falls, Seneca County, was driving a Chevrolet Camaro west on Route 488 and drove off the north shoulder of the road just after 11:30 p.m. His vehicle struck a mailbox and crashed into a large tree.

PENN YAN--The village of Penn Yan has announced that many projects funded by the New York state Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), will begin construction in May. Indian Pines Park will be updated to enhance its location as a waterfront recreation spot, with beach replenishment and a complete overhaul of the parking lot. ONTARIO COUNTY, N.Y. — A Geneva veteran is accused of stealing nearly $93,000 from the local American Legion, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. Dale Henry Mosher, 63, was charged with grand larceny for stealing at least $92,698 from the American Legion Post #396. Mosher spent nearly 20 years on and off as commander. In the last eight years — starting in December of 2015 — investigators say he stole funds from the post.
