Generations of Nebraska families have known Johnny’s Cafe as a steakhouse classic. Now it’s getting an honor that cements that classic status nationally. The 103-year-old South Omaha steakhouse was this week named a James Beard America’s Classics restaurant, an honor that only one other restaurant in Nebraska has received.

North Italia opened in the former Bravo! Italian Kitchen space at Village Pointe this past November. The concept was created by Sam Fox under Fox Restaurant Concepts in 2002. Fox focuses on high-quality, accessible concepts often described as “polished casual.” In 2021, with 17 locations at the time, both North Italia and Fox Restaurant Concepts were acquired by The Cheesecake Factory. THE FAB FOUR, a Beatles tribute band known for recreating the sound and style of the original group, will perform at the Lied Center for Performing Arts in Lincoln, Nebraska. The concert will take place Saturday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. Audiences can expect live renditions of songs including “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Yesterday,” “A Day in the Life,” “Penny Lane,” “Here Comes the Sun,” and “Hey Jude.” The group has toured internationally and received an Emmy Award for a PBS special.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Here’s a list of activities and events coming up in the Omaha metro this weekend. The 6th Annual Aviation STEM Day Expo at the Oak View Mall is happening on Saturday. The event is free and geared for middle and high school students, but the whole family is invited. Kids can explore a planetarium, launch paper rockets, learn about space weather and view the sun through a telescope. The event was initially held once a year at Millard Airport, its success led to the introduction of another event the mall. Visit from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
