Food Network posts classic ‘Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives’ segment featuring Guy Fieri’s favorite Mexican restaurant in Santa Rosa
The Food Network took viewers back in time last week when it reposted a more-than-decade-old video showing longtime Sonoma County resident Guy Fieri and his family visiting their favorite Mexican restaurant in Santa Rosa. The video, a segment of Fieri’s popular “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” show, features the celebrity chef...
Newly released photos show crumbling surface on Sonoma County airport runway
For weeks Sonoma County officials have grasped at various words and phrases to describe the deteriorating conditions on the main runway at Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport. Secret Santa Rosa Cafe Patio Is a Spot for Memories
For 30 years, my mother and grandmother made regular pilgrimages to Cafe Citti in Kenwood for what they called the “tuna egg mayo.”. Though the correct name is “tuna and egg salad sandwich” ($13.95), my mother sticks to her own made-up moniker steadfastly. Little more than a footnote on the Italian trattoria menu, the mix of egg and tuna salad between two thick slices of focaccia is her bad day fixer and comfort food go-to.

Sonoma County Winemaker Wins Top Award at Prestigious Wine Competition
Dennis McCarter cried when he learned that his 2022 Forchini Pinot Noir won a double-gold medal at the 2024 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. It’s not that he didn’t believe it was a well-made wine; he just didn’t expect to land a top award so soon after releasing his first McCarter Cellars wines in 2023.

For nearly 17 years, Petaluma Pete—real name John Maher—was found playing piano on the streets of Petaluma and adding musical color to downtown festivals. In July, he’s hanging up his signature bowler hat and moving with his wife to Orange County to live closer to their adult children. Tina Caputo recorded this audio postcard last spring. (Press play on audio clip above) That was John Maher. Maher hosted a public farewell party on June 2 at The Block in Petaluma, with proceeds benefitting the Petaluma People Services Center Safe Team.
