Police identify man killed inside Saginaw market
SAGINAW, Mich. (WNEM) - The Saginaw Police Department has identified the man found dead inside the K and D Market on the city’s east side. Officers responded to the market, located at 2716 S. Jefferson, shortly after 1 a.m. on Monday, April 29 for reports of smoke coming from the building.
Deadly stabbing in Saginaw ends with 50-month minimum sentence
SAGINAW, Mich. (WJRT) - A Saginaw man will spend at least 50 months in prison for stabbing his friend to death. Court records show 34-year-old Martel Mims was accused of killing Donald Simon last May and Mims plead no contest to manslaughter. A judge gave Mims a sentence of 50 months to 30 years in prison.
Flint River level lowered to aid search for 8-year-old
FLINT, Mich. (WJRT) - Authorities are lowering the water level in the Flint River on Tuesday to help search crews looking for the body of an 8-year-old who drowned on Sunday. Over 100 divers, volunteers and law enforcement have been combing the Flint river, spanning the water from Genesee County, to Saginaw County.
Suspect in crash that killed Bay County school worker seeks license restoration
HAMPTON TWP, MI — Two months ago, a Hampton Township mother and grade school paraprofessional Polly A. Christensen was killed in a traffic crash outside her family home. Police have wrapped their investigation into the deadly collision and sent their findings to prosecutors for review and issuance of possible charges.
Corvette crash claims Bay County man’s life
BEAVER TWP, MI — Bay County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a weekend crash that claimed the life of a local man. At 10:44 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash at West Townline 14 Road near South Flajole Road in Beaver Township. They arrived to find a black 2010 Chevrolet Corvette upside down in a ditch on the north side of the road.
