SAGINAW, MI — Two years after her toddler son fatally overdosed on illegal drugs, a Saginaw mother is heading to prison, a fate shared by the boy’s father. “I just want to apologize to my son and apologize to my family,” a weeping Amber M. Martinez told Saginaw County Circuit Judge Julie A. Gafkay as she appeared before her for sentencing on Sept. 26. “I just hope you take into consideration the facts of the case. I’m just so sorry about what happened.”
