Montgomery County Golf Course Selected as Qualifying Site for U.S. Open
The local qualifying event in Montgomery County for the U.S. Open will be held on May 6 at Union League Liberty Hill in Lafayette Hill. The United States Golf Association has chosen three Pennsylvania golf courses as local qualifying sites for the 124th U.S. Open Championships and one of them is in Montgomery County, writes Amber Charnoff for abc27 News.

The Aug. 18, 1959 issue of The Doylestown Intelligencer reported that “Billy Kline, driving car No. 9, highlighted the weekly racing of the Doylestown Quarter-Midget Racing Club Friday night on the Country Fair Grounds track before a crowd of 300.” On May 19, 1960, the newspaper reported on “tomorrow night’s opening program of the DQMRC at the Doylestown Shopping Center parking lot.” In August 1962, “Quarter Midget drivers from all over the United States will converge on the Doylestown Quarter Midget track at the Doylestown Shopping Center. More than 100 entries are expected… from as far away as California.”
Cabrini students reflect on college experience as the school graduates its final senior class
RADNOR TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) – Cabrini University will graduate its final senior class on Sunday. The private Catholic institution is shutting down permanently after 67 years of operation.In June 2023, the university announced its closure amid declining enrollment and financial troubles. PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Phillies played the New York Mets at Citi Field on Monday night, so Citizens Bank Park was mostly empty, with one exception.
