HARALSON Co. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested and charged eleven people after a drug investigation involving multiple agencies. The GBI has arrested and charged eleven people following a joint drug investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s West Metro Regional Drug Enforcement Office, Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force, Haralson County Sheriff’s Office, Troup County Sheriff’s Office, the DEA Birmingham District Office Task Force Group 42, and 7th Judicial Circuit Major Crimes Unit.

The primary suspect, Daniel Lee Provo, and his associates face charges for methamphetamine traffic and marijuana possession. Law enforcement seized around 4 kilograms of methamphetamine, 2 pounds of marijuana, 6 firearms, and $14,000 in cash. On an evening preceding December 6, 2023, a Cadillac CTS with two occupants from Rockmart, Georgia, succumbed to a fatal mishap at the crossing of Duncan Bridge Road and Willingham Avenue. The 46-year-old driver, accompanied by a 61-year-old, failed to heed a stop sign, resulting in the vehicle's launch into the air and subsequent tragic descent onto railroad tracks below, ending their journey abruptly against a stationary railcar.
