Corning Moose acquires long-vacant Denny's site on Victory Highway
Corning Moose Lodge 274 has purchased the long-empty Denny’s Restaurant property on Victory Highway in Painted Post, with big plans to begin a new exciting chapter. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Until that time, the Corning Moose Lodge will remain at its current Victory Highway home in a former Pizza Hut location, officials said. The Lodge called the purchase a "tremendous milestone" and the "beginning of an exciting new chapter." "To everyone who supported, donated and believed in this journey, we couldn't have reached this milestone without you," stated Corning Moose Lodge 274. Kristen Brewer, Director of Planning & Economic Development for the Town of Erwin, said she is glad to see the ongoing renovations to the long vacant former Denny’s property. “It has been just sitting there for years as a black eye,” Brewer said. “Now it’s being renovated by the Moose and it will be a wonderful spot with enough space for barbecues and other outdoor events.
