Malakoff's Wittram homers as TVCC wins North
CORSICANA, Texas (KLTV) - Former Malakoff Tiger Addison Wittram had a home run and four RBI as TVCC swept Navarro in a doubleheader to clinch the North Division of Region XIV. Batting third and starting at second base, Wittram went a combined 3-for-9 with two runs scored and four RBI. Wittram had two hits, one run scored, two RBI and a stolen base in the first game, which TVCC won, 9-5. Wittram hit a homer in the second game and had one hit, one run and two RBI, which TVCC won, 4-1.
Mabank roper wins $1,700 at Lufkin rodeo
LUFKIN, Texas (KLTV) - A team roper from Mabank took home winnings from the Angelina Benefit Rodeo over the weekend. Boogie Ray, 53, placed third in round two of team roping for a $780 prize. With another $993 for a fourth-place finish in the average, Ray’s total winnings were $1,773 for the Lufkin show. Ray is currently ranked 41st in the PRCA for the event.

Rainfall ended early Sunday afternoon but left behind many locations with high water and some homes taking on significant flood damage. George Hinkle lives at the end of Sunset Drive, just outside the Kaufman city limits, where a nearby reservoir did not drain quickly enough to prevent floodwaters from spilling out to neighborhoods.
