WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a pickup crossed the center line of a highway and crashed head-on into an oncoming car, killing five people on Monday.

The crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 83, just north of the Texas state line.

Four people from Perryton, Texas, were in the car as it headed north on U.S. 83. They died at the scene. The OHP lists the victims as the driver, Clemente Velez, 53, and passengers Esther Espino Puentes, Griselda Lomas De Velez, and Maria Ernesti Velez Mendoza. The OHP does not have the ages of the women.
