ESSEXVILLE, MI — Late last year, officials suspended a teacher at Garber High School in Essexville as police launched a criminal probe. From the outset, investigators and school officials kept their cards close to their chests, revealing little of the alleged crime. Yet with the investigation having wrapped and a prosecutorial decision pending, some aspects are finally starting to emerge.

FRANKENMUTH, MI – Two batters gave Madi Jones all the run support she’d need Tuesday in the Division 3 softball quarterfinal at Frankenmuth Middle School. But just to be sure, Jones belted a two-run homer to add a pair of insurance runs and pitched her way out of three jams in the final three innings of Clare’s 5-0 victory over New Lothrop.
