Paying respects to our fallen emergency workers
Father and son team, Thomas Stonehouse (far left) and Jamie Stonehouse, of the Minnesota Pipes and Drums Band, play “Amazing Grace” on bagpipe at midnight on Wednesday, May 15, at the new Montgomery Police Department in honor of all of the fallen officers and other emergency personnel during National Police Week. This tradition has been carried on for five years now in Montgomery, with Jamie Stonehouse only missing last year. Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, Le Center Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, Montgomery Fire Department, and Montgomery Area EMS were all represented on location with emergency lights activated for the ceremony. A group of about 50 emergency personnel from the area, their families, former emergency workers, and general members of the public showed up to pay their respects.

Titans down WEM to open postseason play
The Tri-City United baseball team hosted Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Thursday night in the first round of the Section 2AA baseball tournament. A six-run second inning propelled the Titans to an 8-1 victory, advancing the team to the second round. Thursday evening, the Waseca Bluejays track and field team traveled to Fairmont to compete in the rescheduled Big South Conference Meet. With top finishes in a multitude of events, the Waseca girls team finished fourth in the conference with 120 points while the boys finished fifth with 87. Three injured during crash in Le Sueur
LE SUEUR, Minn. (KEYC) - An SUV crashed into a sedan on Highway 169 in Le Sueur at around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. 25-year-old Ashlynn Nicole Hodges of New Prague was heading northbound when her 2015 Jeep Cherokee crashed into a 2008 Buick LaCrosse entering northbound driven by 88-year-old Cletius Irene Puhrmann of Fridley.

Janesville Police Department to implement body cameras after approval of policy
The Janesville Police Department will implement body-worn cameras after getting them in March. The Janesville City Council approved the use of a body-worn cameras policy made by the Police Department at its May 13 meeting. The policy will go into effect June 1.
