The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, 866-366-3723, uses a risk-based inspection reporting process for restaurants and other food handlers. Dunkin Donuts, 2905 E. Prospect Rd. York, April 19. Pass. Several open employee beverage containers (screw capped variety) were observed in baking area, a food preparation area. Food employees observed in customer service area, not wearing proper hair restraints, such as beard covers. Food utensils in all beverage preparation areas observed stored in a container of water which is not maintained at 135°F. This is a repeat violation. In-use utensils may be safely stored in HOT water maintained at 135°F or above during intermittent use because microbial growth is controlled at such temperatures. In use food utensils MAY NOT be stored in water that is not maintained at 135°F or hotter between uses due to the possibility for microbial growth at room temperature water. Plastic/silicone protective sheeting on interior surfaces of ovens is peeling and no longer fully adhered to oven surfaces. Upper interior of microwave, a food contact surface, was observed to have food residue and was not clean to sight and touch. Plumbing system not maintained in good repair – Water supply to hand sink located in the oven area has been turned off due to leaking waste water pipe. Women’s toilet room has been placed out of service due to toilet flush mechanism broken not in good repair.

An Italian restaurant in Cumberland County with a loyal following has temporarily closed. Owners Mario and Maria Lubrano left Dolce Vita Italian Restaurant at 1509 Market St. in Camp Hill about a week ago, said Nino Basic, the property owner. Basic, who operates Carpe Diem restaurant in New Cumberland, said he’s not sure why the Lubranos decided to depart the business.
