Panel featuring women in the outdoor industry coming in May
Eagle County-based nonprofit the Gore Range Gravity Alliance is hosting Making Waves in the Outdoors: A Female Perspective on Thursday, May 30 at the Vail Golf Club. The event will help amplify the female voice in the outdoor industry while showcasing women-owned businesses. The event features a reception and expo filled with diverse businesses showcasing their trade. A silent auction will also be hosted, helping raise funds for Gore Range Gravity Alliance to continue growing their programming of educating women in the outdoors.
Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement lands sizable grant from the Great Outdoors Colorado program
The path has been complicated, but Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement finally has landed some grant funding. The Eagle County Board of Commissioners’ April 30 agenda has a consent item that contains a pass-through of Great Outdoors Colorado grant funding for Walking Mountains Science Center and the Eagle Valley Outdoor Movement program it manages. That program helps provide outdoor activities for the valley’s Spanish-speaking residents.
Avon police release video seeking information on fatal hit-and-run incident

The above-average snowpack in Eagle County was causing concern for flooding. Avon Police apprehend suspect for financial crime
On Thursday, April 25 just after 9 a.m., an EC Alert was sent out alerting residents in the 3000 block of Wildridge Road in Avon that there was police activity in the area. According to Avon Police Chief Greg Daly, the department apprehended a suspect regarding a financial crime on a senior victim.
