Last week, Avon Police Department released a video on its Facebook page sharing the emergency call that came in on Tuesday, March 5 at 6:50 p.m., detailing the scene of what would later be determined as a hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of 76-year-old John “Jack” Ladesic of Pennsylvania.
Eagle County Sheriff’s Office investigating death of teenager as a homicide
Eagle County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a juvenile fatality that occurred on Wednesday, April 24, just before 10 p.m. Deputies from the sheriff’s office were dispatched to Second Street Park in Gypsum Wednesday for a reported disturbance involving several people, according to a release from Eagle County Sheriff’s Office. The deputies found that multiple teenagers had been involved in an altercation and that during the incident, one teenager was seriously injured.

Gypsum to update permitting of an old plan for I-70 airport interchange
Town of Gypsum officials are serious about reviving ideas for an interchange to link Interstate 70 to the Eagle County Regional Airport. The Gypsum Town Council recently authorized spending roughly $800,000 to update old permits for the project, but an interchange will require crossing the Eagle River and the Union Pacific railroad tracks. Right-of-way for the project still exists.
