    HCSO: Man arrested, 2 wanted after human remains found in Edinburg

    EDINBURG, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — One man is in custody and two are wanted after human remains were found in rural Edinburg, authorities said.

    On Friday, the HCSO’s Major Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a residence where the remains were found.

    Sheriff Eddie Guerra said on May 13, deputies received a call about a possible homicide.

    “We searched our files, and we found that on May 11, there was an information report of a possible missing person,” Guerra said.

    According to a release from the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office, investigators were told a missing person had been killed at the residence on the 1900 block of Morningset Road in San Juan.

    Additionally, investigators were told the body had been moved and buried in another location near the 4600 block of Wisconsin Road.

    Deputies were able to secure a search warrant on both properties.

    A search resulted in the findings of human remains at the 4600 block of E. Wisconsin Road, according to Guerra.

    Investigators identified the suspects as 43-year-old Jesus Grijalva, 35-year-old Roberto Salas and 47-year-old Samuel Uvalle Sr, a news release stated.

    “At this time we believe that a murder took place inside the residence in San Juan and the San Juan Police Department is joining us in this investigation,” Guerra said.

    Grijalva was charged with murder and is booked in the Hidalgo County Jail.

    Investigators secured murder warrants for Uvalle and Salas, who are currently not in custody, the release stated.

    Investigators are pending forensic identification for the human remains found at the Edinburg location.
