EAU CLAIRE — An Eau Claire man faces multiple charges after parents reported him to police as a drug dealer.

Evan Daniels, 23, is charged with possession with intent to distribute amphetamine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute THC, possession with intent to distribute Schedule IV drugs, possession with intent to distribute prescription drugs, distribution of a hazardous substance, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of methamphetamine, possession of controlled substances, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping, disorderly conduct and resisting officers.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were called in April after a man reported his son had bought drugs from Daniels. Officers went to Daniels’ residence, where his grandmother answered the door. She called for Daniels to come to the door, but got no response. After a few moments when she went to Daniels’ room, she told officers she thought they needed to come in.

Daniels was in his room, unconscious on the floor. There were multiple drugs visible in the room, and when an officer spoke to Daniels he began to wake up. He asked the officers to leave and began yelling when he was told he was being arrested, demanding to know why his grandmother had allowed them into the house.

The officers eventually needed restraints to get Daniels out of the residence and into a police car.

Officers got a warrant to search Daniels’ room. The search turned up marijuana, fentanyl, numerous pipes, a “cocaine-encrusted” scale and a wide range of pills, among other items. It also found nitrous oxide, giving rise to the hazardous substances charge.

None of the charges are on the high end of Wisconsin’s felony schedule, but collectively they carry the potential for more than 60 years in prison.
