LANSING, Ill. — When Matthew (Matt) G. Pocernich opened his small bakery in Chicago’s South Deering neighborhood, Franklin D. Roosevelt was president of the United States. Greektown Chicago is illuminated with blue and white lights along Halsted Street as it kicks off the holiday season with festivities. The Greektown Shoppers Reward Program offers a $50 rebate for visitors who shop and dine in the neighborhood through Dec. 31. 3152 N. Cambridge Ave. — Approximate Home Facing Landmark Review. The immediate question is whether the Commission on Chicago Landmarks will give preliminary landmark status to architect John Vinci’s Lake View residence and studio at 3152 N. Cambridge Ave. at its Thursday meeting. The proposed designation would recognize the 1893 house, Vinci’s preservation work and the architecture firm he started there.
