Hi! I purchased my home here in Lansing in 2013 and within the last six or seven years, but especially now, this has become a place I want to sell my home and run from. There’s gunshots all the time. I live maybe half a mile east of the Walmart that was built. Had I known it was coming, I never would have bought my home here.
Man charged with reckless homicide, DUI in fatal crash on I-57
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Chicago man has been charged with reckless homicide, after two people were killed in a crash on Interstate 57 on Tuesday near south suburban Posen.Illinois State Police said 23-year-old Isaac Espejel was speeding in the northbound lanes of I-57 near 146th Street around 1:45 a.m. on Tuesday, when he lost control of his Ford Ecosport SUV, and crashed into the concrete median barrier.Two passengers in the SUV were killed in the crash. Espejel was treated for minor injuries.Police said Espejel was charged on Wednesday with two felony counts of reckless homicide and two felony counts of aggravated DUI.

St. John working on ordinance to regulate golf carts on town streets
St. John is looking to regulate golf carts using town streets. Police officer Shane Adams says there are some people using them, but there aren't currently any specific rules. "In the summertime, we do get a lot of calls about golf carts on the road and people calling on them, and we don't really have any way of really regulating it and everything," Adams told the town council during a study session Wednesday.

Man hit by Metra train in Robbins
ROBBINS, Ill. (CBS) -- A Metra train hit a pedestrian Thursday night in south suburban Robbins.The rail agency said Metra Rock Island District train No. 513 struck the pedestrian.CBS 2 is told the man was rushed to an area hospital.
