DOYLESTOWN, PA—Doylestown will be part of a new music festival that’s taking place this weekend in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

The Bucks-Mont Bonzeroo festival was born last month when Perkasie Porchfest was cancelled at the last minute. That festival featured bands playing at houses and businesses throughout Perkasie, often on porches.

Perkasie Porchfest began in 2022, but this year’s festival was cancelled in April when organizers couldn’t agree with the town’s officials on how to move forward with the event. When news of the cancellation spread, nearby communities offered to make sure that the festival continued by hosting concerts.

The reincarnation of Porchfest will feature nearly 70 bands in six communities on Saturday, May 11. Many of the events are near Perkasie in towns like Souderton, Sellersville and Lansdale.

One event will be held on Saturday afternoon at Maennerchor Field at 3700 Cold Spring Creamery Road in Doylestown near the Doylestown Airport. That part of the festival will feature three bands starting at noon that include singer-songwriter Cathie C, Jake’s Americana Bluegrass Duo and Bird Country.

Because Perkasie Porchfest was cancelled so late in the process, Bucks-Mont Bonzeroo organizers are still finalizing the details of this year’s festival. They may continue to tweak the schedule and add bands as the weekend nears.

The event is free, but organizers are asking attendees to bring canned goods, toiletries and other donations for local food pantries. Drop boxes will be on-site at the performances to collect donations.

A schedule of events is on the group’s Facebook page.
