MSU grad setting sights on Olympic gold with Team USA in Paris
Murray State alum and U.S. Army Sargeant Ivan Roe has traded in his Racer blue and gold for red, white, and blue ahead of Roe's appearance at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The Hopkinsville High School and University Heights Academy boys’ golf teams competed Tuesday in the Marshall County Invitational. Wade Foster led Hopkinsville with a 79 and Ryan Martin carded an 84. Lady Tigers start new season well at DC invite
OWENSBORO – The 2024 season high school golf season started in very positive fashion Monday for two Murray High girls players. Lady Tiger seniors Macy Saylor and Emerson Vaughn both registered top-10 finishes in the Daviess County Invitational at the Pearl Club in Owensboro. Against a field of 68 players, some of whom are among the top high schoolers in the commonwealth, Saylor finished with a career-best score for a 18-hole round - 76 - that was good enough for sixth, while Vaughn was solid as well with a 77 that gave her seventh place.
Lady Marshals win Marshall County Invitational
The Marshall County Invitational held on Tuesday at Calvert City Country Club marks the beginning of the high school golf season. Heavy rain delayed the afternoon start for the girl’s teams and when play wrapped up in the evening, the Marshall County girls topped the field of eight teams to win with a score of 329.
Marshals finish fourth in Marshall County Invitational
The team from McCracken County took the win at Tuesday’s Marshall County Invitational with a score of 303, nine strokes better than second place Owensboro with 312. Paducah Tilghman rounded out the top three teams with 316 and Marshall County finished fourth one stroke back with a score of 317.
